Andrew Fisher

I've always loved analogue photography, I built my own darkroom when I was younger. In the last few years I've been exploring film, drawing, screen printing, anything that produces the image I want. I didn't go to art school so I just experiment and either teach myself or find some kind person who is willing to help. Instagram: @jumpingshrew

Where would you like your work to take you?

To the next project, something interesting and new and a little bit better. Trying, learning, sometimes failing and then trying again.

What do you look for when creating an image?

The best stuff happens when I'm in the moment and everything's clicking and the work seems to be creating itself. It doesn't happen that often but that's when the most interesting images appear. I'm always trying to set myself up so those moments can come along.

Where do you draw inspiration from?

No idea, again it's just about getting in the right frame of mind so that ideas can come along and I'm ready to grab them. It's got to be something that matters to me or something that bothers me. I've always been frightened about time passing and that generally informs most of the work I produce.

Can you list a couple other creatives/friends/people you look to for inspiration?

I love people that are amazing at what they do but seem to want to get better. People that concentrate on their craft and dedicate their lives to developing and producing the best work they can. David Nash, Radiohead, Bob Dylan, Pawel Pawlikowski, Cat Power, too many to mention!
