Valentines Akt Charity Create Session!
❤️Happy Valentines Day! 🧡
Whether you are all loved up or single and bloody loving it, we are feeling all lovey-dovey today xxx
The amazing works you see here have all been created exclusively for us at Ostrich Magazine, by going off our valentines day brief which we set two weeks ago.
There were two options:
Option 1 was to go off your favourite love song or a song that means something important to you.
Option 2, we gave them a word associated with valentines day.
Each person has come back with something completely unique and individual and were are 100% here for them all!
Some of these works are for sale and either a full donation or a portion will be going to @aktcharity. It is a really incredible organisation that we are so proud to support and help as much as we can.
It’s never too late to show someone you love them, and what better way than to give them a unique piece of art made with love.
See all of our submissions below.

‘Rainbow’ by slowthai
@flea.watson
The lyric ‘made a cheesecake, last bit, we can split it’ comes from a slowthai song called ‘Rainbow’. It’s a song that has nothing to do with kitchens or getting older on your own, but in the second I heard that line, it lit up my face. The gentleness of it, and the genuinity made it seem to be the greatest love lyric I’ve heard, even if it’s in the oddest place. It shows all the familiarity and kindness I want to show the people I love.
As the people around us grow up, there is a growing burden to know love in the way of romance, but it’s okay when romance doesn’t go to plan and it’s okay to grow up and spend that time alone. I look forward to a future that I can share with someone else but before that happens, I’m perfectly content to share cheesecake with my friends and with myself. When I read this back over ‘cheesecake’ has begun to sound like a euphemism, but the sentiment of the message still stands true.
