Ryan Gattaora

I am a film photographer based just outside London. I photograph because I like people, I like individuality and I like different cultures. For me I know a shoot has gone well when I've captured the model's personality in the images and the contact sheet reveals a story. Instagram: @ryan.gattaora

What would you like people to take away from your work?

I’d like people to view my work and understand the honesty and feeling the model and I are trying to convey.

If you could collaborate with anyone who would it be?

If I could work with anyone I’d want to collaborate with Harry Styles.

Where do you draw inspiration from?

I draw my inspiration from lots of different forms of media such as films, photo books, graphic novels and music. I feel because of the recent lockdown’s I’ve been able to sink my teeth into much more than I’d normally be able to which has and will influence future projects.

Can you list a couple other creatives/friends/people you look to for inspiration?

I look up to modern photographers like Rosie Matheson, Zachary Michaels, Dana Trippe and Tom Mitchell to name a few. I feel it’s a good idea to have a variety of “favourite” photographers as I believe you should never be closed minded to any style.
