Jo Pearce

I’m a fashion photographer and art director based in the South of England. I use all kinds of art to inspire my work and making the dull and boring exciting and innovative is the drive behind everything I do. I like to celebrate people and portray them through quirky narratives. Collaborating is so important to my work as it is a labour of love between several different creatives. Instagram: @_jopearce

Where would you like your work to take you?

When creating my images I always look for colour, pattern and texture, they’re my main three things. I want my work to be a bit quirky and playful. My relationship with models is super important to me too, if we don’t click, it’s not going to work!

What do you look for when creating an image?

When creating my images I always look for colour, pattern and texture, they’re my main three things. I want my work to be a bit quirky and playful. My relationship with models is super important to me too, if we don’t click, it’s not going to work!

If you could collaborate with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?

I would love to collaborate with Nico Krijno. I discovered his work by accident when I was 12 and he’s inspired a lot of my creative thinking and attitudes. I love that he creates work for himself instead of others, I think this comes across in his work.

Can you list a couple other creatives/friends/people you look to for inspiration?

I look to photographers such as Lotte Schriek for inspiration but I also get a lot of inspiration from designers such as Molly Goddard. It’s often fashion that inspires a project for me.
