Paper Ceramics
Paper ceramics - a Manchester based small batch ceramics business specialising in handcrafted clay vases and candlestick holders. Paper Ceramics began in November 2020, making simple candlestick holders, trinket dishes and small pinch during the U.K. lockdown. The overwhelming support sparked the courage to start this as a small business. The polka dots are the signature design, but I’m always experimenting with making new designs: stripes (called Shelly), and the peach Dalmatian print is inspired by the Starfish found on Cleethorpes Beach.
All pieces are made with airdry clay so no water on me!

Where would you like your work to take you?
I’d love to have my own little shop selling art magazines, my ceramics, doing ceramic workshops & with a little coffee shop!
Which part of your creative process do you enjoy most?
I enjoy playing some music & painting my pieces the most as it brings the pieces to life.
Where do you draw inspiration from?
I draw inspiration from so many other artists I follow on Instagram! Recently being back home (Cleethorpes) I’ve had a lot of inspiration from walking down the beach and taking in the patterns and colours of the seashells. I love looking through Barbara Hepworths & Henry Moore’s work, I’m genuinely really interested in shapes and ordinary day to day objects.
What piece of music would you say compliments your work the most?
This has been a tough question
Can you list a couple other creatives/friends/people you look to for inspiration?
Richard Wentworth, Thomas Demand, Egon Schiele, my Mum and Boyfriend inspire me too to just keep going
