Where would you like your work to take you?
I am currently on the search for a placement/internship for September so it is very exciting times . In the future i hope to have a successful zero waste clothing line, the aim for my final work Is to be timeless and luxurious resulting in the consumer only having to buy once, therefore creating a fashionable, sustainable agenda.
Sustainability is obviously very important to your work - how do you try to be as sustainable as possible?
Fashion; Being bold, curious and daring drives my work. When I enter a dull charity shop and look around, many would view the material as dull and unusable, not me, I see this as a challenge and an opportunity.
Where do you draw inspiration from?
My inspiration is fuelled by the want to create something modern with the so called “unusable”, by reconstructing the materials that I discover into modern silhouettes using innovative pattern cutting and draping techniques. Sometimes I discover fabrics that some may believe are lifeless but i strive to breathe new and rekindled life into them, rich in texture and colour, with a new story to tell.
Can you list a couple other creatives/friends/people you look to for inspiration?
Stella McCartney
