Daisy Blower
Daisy Blower (she/her) is a queer artist based in London making feminist, mixed media artworks in 3D, on a miniature scale. This series, ‘awakening’, tries to grapple with the messiness of a queer feminist life; introspection, intimacy and intimate space, queer agency and bodily remnants. Instagram: @daisyblower
Where would you like your work to take you?
I would like to be able to tour my work as a pop-up exhibition, free to the public, working in collaboration with a soundscape artist and team of audio description artists. We’d tour to unconventional spaces all across the UK and the world!
Which part of your creative process do you enjoy most?
I love working with my hands, so the actual sculpting part. Although there is something great about dedicating time to the feeling I’m attempting to recreate or responding to in the piece I’m working on.
Where do you draw inspiration from?
From late night conversations with my partner, artists who are brave and self exploratory, drunken chats with my flatmates, hard conversations that make me think a lot.
What piece of music would you say compliments your work the most?
Squelching, oozing sounds integrated with audio description....?
Can you list a couple other creatives/friends/people you look to for inspiration?
Meg-John & Justin, Sofie Birkin, Dulcie, Judy Chicago, Maisie Cousins, Ruby, Hayley Wall, Ruari Paterson- Achenbach
