Heaton’s work challenges our pre-conceived familiarity with the environment that surrounds us, our placement within it and the permanence of memories we access to reflect on and balance our lives. Natural form, structure and colour are broken down into basic constructs, rearranged and reordered to resonate outside the normal frequency, offering an alternative viewpoint and a deeper subconscious understanding, a quiet approach to the often misplaced and overlooked beauty hidden within. Why do you wish to challenge our preconceived familiarity with our environments?

I wish to challenge our pre-conceived familiarity of our environments to allow people a closer and uninhabited awareness of their own individual understanding of themselves and the world they live in, a world that is free from a sociality influenced structure and behavioural learnt bias.

What would you like people to take away from your work?

A quiet moment of reflection.

If you could show your work anywhere, where would it be?

There are so many beautiful galleries and countries around the world I would still love to visit.. whoever would have me.
