Pascoe Kelly-Sinclair

I am a Bristol based sculptor inspired by everyday objects to create simplistic and minimal depictions using construction materials. Each piece of my work celebrates the relationship between the material, tools and shape whilst highlighting the unusual raw beauty of the materials and construction methods used. Where would you like your work to take you?

The dream would definitely be being able to make a living from my work so I can dedicate more time to creating.

If you could show your work anywhere - where would it be?

I would love to create large scale works outside, like massive ones, 6-7 storeys high or bigger so anywhere that could display them, Yorkshire Sculpture Park would be awesome.

Why do you choose to sculpt everyday household objects?

I think these objects have a lot of hidden beauty in them that we take for granted, so I like to highlight that through my work. For instance you wouldn’t really take notice of a plug socket normally as is just a functional object but when looking at it as a piece of art you start to appreciate it more.

Can you list a couple other creatives/friends/people you look to for inspiration?

I take inspiration from everyone really, family and friends, people I follow on insta. It could come from any situation, for example I was at my mum’s partners house a while back and he had a door hand in the middle of his wall just chillin there and I really like that idea of what does it open? Where does it go? Which was the inspiration behind one of my recent pieces ‘Leo’s Wall Handle’ which was made from wire fencing panels painted green.
